All Things After Care!
-
After 1-4 hours wash your hands thoroughly and remove tattoo dressing. Wash with gentle antibacterial soap. Allow to air dry and apply a thin layer of healing ointment (we suggest Aquaphor).
Continue to clean, dry, and apply ointment 2-3 times a day for 5 days. Do Not Pick Or Itch The Tattoo!
After 5 days switch to a regular moisturizer or lotion and apply up to 3 times a day.
Do not soak the tattoo in water or expose it to direct sunlight until it is fully healed.
-
Wash your hands thoroughly prior to cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason
Soak the piercing with Saline Solution (0.9% NaCl) for 1-3 minutes, or however long is needed to soften any crusties.
Wipe off those crusties gently with a clean paper towel. Avoid q-tips!
Only clean your piercings 1 or 2 times a day. No more than 3! The more you touch and disturb your new piercing, the slower it will heal.
It is normal and expected to see crusties and whitish-yellow fluid around your healing piercing, this is why we clean!
Avoid:
Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, scented soaps and ointments.
Bactine or other products containing Benzalkonium Chloride (BZK).
Trauma such as friction from clothing, playing with jewelry and vigorous cleaning. This can cause piercing bumps!
Submerging your piercing in unhygienic bodies of water.
Make-up and personal care products around the area of the piercing.
Tips:
Leave your jewelry in for the entire healing period.
Leave jewelry in at all times even when healed.
With clean hands, regularly check threaded ends for tightness.
In the event of an infection, do not remove the jewelry unless instructed by a medical professional.
